Histology labs operated by a global medical device manufacturer.


A digital tissue staining workflow solution included a complex Bill of Materials for specialized IT components. One of those components – a specialized printer– was constrained due to COVID; causing part shortages that were likely to result in a stock out situation.


Dynamic worked in close partnership with parts suppliers and the printer OEM, securing parts and the printers; in advance of the printers being produced, and without a customer purchase order. Dynamic also collaborated with the customer to buy the anticipated inventory, based on the customer’s forecast. Dynamic then arranged to warehouse/inventory the product as it became available.


The customer was insulated from COVID-related supply chain disruptions based on Dynamic’s elimination stock out risk and long lead times. Dynamic also absorbed the costs of holding safety stock and simplified the customer’s order management process.
